Animals of all kinds like food, humans included!

We all need food to survive. For many animals, they may eat enough to keep going and that's it. Fodder or scientifically made dog food isn't the same as your Nona's Bolognese, or your dad's lamb shanks, or even your local takeout pizza. For humans, there's something about food that's more than just eating for caloric necessities. There's the level of emotional satisfaction and fulfillment when it comes to eating. It's not just about filling one's belly, it's a whole spectrum of emotions involved with eating. Firstly, there's the tastes and texture. A steaming hot bowl of soup isn't the same food as your cat is eating. Or a juicy hamburger with French fries, or a big bowl of spaghetti. And outside of tastes being so different, there's the nostalgic, emotional aspect.

We all have childhood memories of food; memories that span our entire lives. Food never stops tasting good, it never stops surprising us, and we will always enjoy it. Animals are the same, but they don't exactly have the same opportunities as we do. Here's to chunky animals who just want a little extra nibble to be truly happy and satisfied.

Everyone likes food. Even people with strict diets who look like machine robots with immense discipline like food. It's human nature! It's in our biology to want to eat and enjoy eating, that's why food tastes so good. We all have our favorites, too. One of my favorite foods is pasta. It's so simple and delicious, there are tons of ways to eat it and I love how versatile it can be. My favorite is a simply buttery pasta with parmesan cheese, salt and pepper to top. Basically a cacio e pepe, but it doesn't have to be professionally made. The secret to making a perfect pasta sauce? The starchy pasta water. Seriously, try it next time!

Another one of my favorite foods is sushi. I like simple rolls like spicy tuna and spicy salmon. There's something about the act of using chopsticks and picking up each piece that makes it feel like a special ceremony. Sometimes I wonder if I love fish or if I just love drowning everything in wasabi.
